Farmer’s Market Returns for 9th Season

6/3/2016

Voted Connecticut’s Favorite Farmers’ Market in 2015, The Monroe Farmers’ Market returns to the Town Hall Green at the corner of Fan Hill Road and Route 111 in Monroe, each Friday starting on June 17, 2016 with the best local farm products that Connecticut has to offer!
Our mission is to support Connecticut farmers and to provide members of the community with access to fresh, locally produced seasonal foods. We raise awareness of issues such as recycling, sustainability and the local food movement through the sponsorship of weekly programs for children and adults. Bring your family, friends, and a picnic blanket and enjoy free weekly entertainment on the green by the gazebo. The Monroe Farmers’ Market serves as a community gathering place where the simple pleasures in life are abundant!

Opening day has something for everyone. Bring the kids to visit the baby goats and bunnies courtesy of  Zenko Farm of Monroe. You can also sign up for their Summer programs. Learn everything there is to know about gardening from our guest vendor UConn Master Gardeners. Entertainment will be provided by a local favorite Sam Blanchette.  As always, Carl Anthony’s will be preparing fresh, made-to-order brick oven pizza and Webb Mountain Discovery Zone will be at the market with information and registration details for their weekly programs. Don't miss this opportunity to get your kids signed up for Summer fun!
