Nationally-recognized singer/songwriter and farmers' market favorite, Griffin Anthony kicks off our 2019 season live on the gazebo this week. His soulful Americana lilt echoes other single-named greats: Marvin, Stevie, Jackson, James. Hailed by critics as “hypnotic and contagious,” and by fellow musicians as a “musical string bean,” Griff’s warmth and compassion are as bottomless as his coffee cup.
The Monroe Playground Foundation will be at the market raising funds for the new playscape at Wolfe Park.
Webb Mountain Discovery Zone will be at the market with information on their outdoor learning programs for children of all ages.
Master Gardeners from the UCONN Extension Master Gardener Program's Fairfield County Office will be available to answer questions about most aspects of gardening, including growing ornamentals and vegetables, composting, insects, plant diseases, pests and invasive species in our area. Stop by—they're a wealth of free information!
Learn about medicinal plants and energy medicine while your child makes an Herbal Fairy Wish necklace with Kelly Pietro at the The Mindful Herbalist's table. Your $1 donation will go to United Plant Savers, an organization devoted to the protection of native medicinal plants of North America. Kelly Pietro is The Mindful Herbalist—a community herbalist with formal trainings in herbal and energetic studies.
Join Elaina Wieser, owner of Blue Lotus Yoga in Monroe, for kids' yoga at the farmers market. This is a great opportunity for kids and their parents to learn how to move and breathe mindfully in a fun, educational and non-competitive way. Yoga can increase focus, decrease anxiety and strengthen all the systems of your body. Renew mind, body and spirit at the farmers’ market this week!
Local artist Strawberry Face Painting will be at the market this week painting creative, colorful faces on kids!
The Children's Coloring Station will be open with brand new farm-themed coloring pages provided by Southbury Printing.
Gathered Harvest Granola joins the market with fresh-baked granola in a variety of flavors and sweetened with local maple syrup.
