Market Minis Children's Programs at the Market

We know engaging kids at mealtime is difficult and picky eaters are hard to please. We also know that curious minds and an appetite for the unknown are great tools for converting children into healthy, young consumers!
Our new Market Minis program is based off of a national initiative called 'Power of Produce' which helps transform your kids into active market participants through educational activities, demonstrations, interactions with our local farmers, and challenges to try fresh market produce. Take for instance, the “Two Bite Club”—a challenge to taste new fruits or veggies, or give familiar ones a second chance.
Participants engage in the full farmers market experience by trying new foods, having conversations with farmers, and buying local produce. Fun activities ranging from cooking to scavenger hunts, crafts, art projects, story time and taste testing. They will also earn market bucks to use towards purchasing items of their choice at the Market.

Guidelines for Parents
Children ages 4-12 can sign up at any point in the Season for the Market Minis program. They will also be allowed to participate in the activities WITHOUT signing up for the program, they just won't be eligible to receive the Market Tokens that are used for purchasing items.
Sign up at any Market this season at the Volunteer Table, but please note the program is only available to the first 150 registrants. Your child will be given a 'punch card' upon registration, and each week you attend after that, stop by the Volunteer Table to find out what this week's activity is. You can also check out our newsletter and Facebook Events where the activities will be announced and updated each week.
