Volunteering at the Market
This year more than ever, we are looking for volunteers to assist us in market-day operations.
Volunteering at the farmers’ market is a great way to get involved in your community while supporting the hard-working Connecticut farmers and producers that make it all possible. You’ll be a part of a local food movement that provides access to healthy and delicious food to your friends, family and neighbors. But, what’s involved in volunteering at the market?
The market runs every Friday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, rain or shine. Setup generally starts at 2:00pm and ends at 6pm. On market day, we divide up volunteer activity into two 2-hour shifts, but you’re welcome to give more time if you can!

What’s Different This Season?
This year, volunteer opportunities are focused solely on packaging online pre-orders for customer pickup. Pre-printed lists will guide you in gathering items for each customer order from multiple vendors. Orders will need to be verified for completeness and staged by customer name in pre-selected pickup time slots.
Though we’re starting small, we eventually anticipate 300+ orders per week, so we may need as many as 5-10 volunteers for each 2-hour shift.
